Cleaning out my Trunk Case
How goes it fellow make up lovers? Recently, I decided to start upgrading all of my makeup choices and found that I was battling a true up close and personal addiction with makeup. I've been trying to get up and on anybody's list that can get me into one of those makeup shows that has all the items available for far cheaper. I just saw some of my fellow bloggers at the IMATS LA 2009. Oh how I wished to be in attendance. Is there anybody considering being one to the Houston or Dallas area?

Let's Welcome the Comeback Kids
Fashion is doing a heightened emergence of 80's inspired clothing and shoes. So again during one of my shopaholic phases, I came across Brian Atwood's Margie peep toe rainbow embellished sandal and fell completely head over heels in love with them. Aren't they just the epitome of a wonderful summer night on the town dancing with the girls or an energetic date with a potential boyfriend? I can't believe SJP never wore these on Sex in the City. I mean I can just see her strutting around a fashion industry event with these babies on. On the site, the shoes are paired with a Diane Von Furstenberg royal blue tunic and a Marc Jacobs clutch and it is nothing less than perfection!!!!
I wonder if we'll see these beauties being sported by Hollywood's Best Dressed Celebs.
Until then,

Bobbi's Top 10
We all are familiar with the dynamic make up artist Bobbi Brown. Well she's published a book that is geared to assisting the fresh and new beginning artist as well as the pro artiste. Let's look at a sample of what Bobbi has to stay in her Top 10 Makeup Tips from the Makeup Manual:
• Make sure foundation is yellow-based. Everyone has yellow undertones in their skin. Pink-based foundations look like a mask on most people. Only 1 per cent need a pink tone: those who sunburn even in the shade. Foundation should not change the colour of the face but simply even out the tone.
• When applying foundation, apply thinly then let it settle for a few minutes to see the true effect. Then blend in more on the zones where it’s needed.
• To avoid powder build-up on oily skin, use an oil-blotting paper before touching up.
• If you have thin lips, choose light to medium lipcolour shades, as dark shades have a minimising effect.
• Soften too-harsh brow colour by pressing loose powder onto the brows with a powder puff.
• Dark circles look darker when liner is applied on the lower lash line. Bring concealer up to the lash line, and use only mascara on the lower lashes.
• You can curl lashes by pressing them up with your fingers as the mascara dries.
• When you remove make-up, dry the face with the softest natural-fibre towels you can find. Pat the face dry. Rubbing or hard wiping creates small abrasions on the skin’s surface, causing irritation, redness and even swelling.
• Fade overly dark self-tan colour by exfoliating the skin in the shower with a washcloth or loofah. Then, thoroughly clean the skin with cold cream or baby oil. Some self-tanners can be removed with lemon juice. Fix streaks by applying an additional light coat of self-tanner on the lightest parts of the skin.
• And for brides: use a moisturiser that will prepare the skin for make-up, but avoid sunblocks and sunscreens that can give a ‘flash off’ to make-up. They reflect too much light under flash photography, resulting in an over-exposed shot.
I hope these tips provided a little assistance or clarity for anyone beginning in makeup artistry.

Kanye takes his shoe game up
The self proclaimed Louis Vuitton Don, Kanye West has introduced his new men's sneaker line with the high fashion label. It first hit the press around the summer of 2008. Photos were released earlier this month and the shoes are said to range anywhere from $800 to $1000. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall for that meeting.
I'm wondering if Kanye understands what pressure this will put on the average folks who want to step their game up. Hell, I can only imagine to the lengths that most everyday people will go to, just to be the first to step fresh in them bad boys. Although, I don't foresee any low budget hustlas sporting them, but I'm almost 100 % positive that the Dope Boys have already placed their orders for them.
Another hat is taken off to Mr. West, for he keeps stepping up his $$$ game. I can't help but admire the creative mind, of which I also possess.

Top Three Lines 4 Me
Yesterday, I decided that I was of course treat myself and that always entails with the purchasing of cosmetics or some type of pampering. However, I ended up at Sephora, and to my surprise they were offering free
consultations for eyes and nails, so I opted to see what I could do to expand my knowledge
during my beginner artistry days.
As soon as I began my journey down the many rows of lovely options, I saw one of the associates with this slamming eye display and wanted to get some suggestions. So as I approached her and she led me to a section that up until this point had been a total passover. The area was Make Up Forever, I was told by the associate that this is the line that Cirque De Soleli uses for their performances. Upon its settings, I saw several faces with different designs and patterns that you could create with their products along with the numbers. So I chose to do one that would only boost the my DIVA persona. I selected shades 10 ( bright yellow), 18( mid range orange) and 75 (brightly hued fuchsia) from the Star Powder line to create this rainbow type effect, as well as taking a glimpse at their Flash Color Pot display. I can't remember the associate's name that supplied me with samples and suggestions, but I will say that she did assist in converting me to another perfecting line of products for my addiction to makeup. She also stated that she prefers to use Stila's smudge pot in Black to create a defining eyeliner, therefore I purchased it as it made my overall look increase. I left out of the store with some new products and tools to use on past and future clients. I believe for this season that my top three cosmetics lines are MAC, MUFE, and Stila.

I succumb to M-A-C
Ok, so within the last two weeks I've given in to M-A-C products. At first, I was truly unhappy with the results of purchasing Oh Oh Baby and the way it defined my lips. So I decided to give them a second chance with foundation, as nothing else was working. My artist, Lacey was very essential in my decision process and even gave me some new pointers that I will be sharing in later blogs. I purchased three products and I'm totally a donning myself a M-A-C seeker. I will be purchasing several items for the next couple of months, to just get my face into the game. I believe I'll host a special gathering for my friends to come and shop through my collections, so that I can go and refill with all MAC.
So far I have...succumb!!!

Prestige Cosmetics
So as I'm doing my local search for clearance items at Walgreen's, I come across a wonderful closeout of Prestige Cosmetics. Now they aren't a high end brand, but for Walgreen's' standards they're pretty steep. So I opted to ramble through the offering to find several soft kohl pencils, waterproof eyeliners, and etc. The range of colors that they offer are simply magnificent and I'm definitely impressed by far. You know usually buying some cosmetic products from Retail stores, can cause one to be a little cautious. As it only takes one time to have an allergic reaction from a cheap brand to scar you for a lifetime. So I was quite the amazed and dazzled Diva, I spent very little on such complementing tools. Upon application, the eyeliners go on smooth and stay on until I'm ready to take them off or pretend to be Sleeping Beauty in them. Check on the various tools of their line of cosmetics at Prestige Cosmetics.

Word to All My Metro-Mens!!!!
Associated press has just released news that Curtis "50 Cent"Jackson is finally through putting the finishing touches on his cosmetics line exclusively for men. According to the masses, the line will offer several types of body moisturizers and supplements to enhance the male physique. Most are already throwing out their snickers and gag laughs as 50 continues to develop ways to keep his $$$ game up. If you're not familiar with 50' s portfolio, please check out the most recent publication of Forbes Celebrity 100 of 2008. 50 has been ranked at #26 and is worth an estimated $150 million, not too bad for a former drug dealer-to rapper-to self made millionaire, huh? Don't be so quick to shoot down 50's skills to make the dollars. He might just surprise you, once more!!!!

Rock It or Stop It???
Adele, our British soulful diva to be , is getting all glammed up for the 51st Grammy's and all us big girls are hoping and praying that she shows out as well as her voice did on the classic ballad, "Chasing Pavements". She has four nominations and I'm hoping that she will take at least two grammys home.
Unfortunately, Ms. Adele is in need of a little glam assistance. None other than legendary,Anna Wintour has stepped in to offer dressing her for the elaborate red carpet. Here's a couple of pictures showing your truly and her style. I will say that she is very stunning and hopefully she will become one of the night's best dressed. I can just see millions being taken back by her beauty. I will also say that she is definitely a unique and delightful artist.
But she should have completely STOPPED this outfit!!!!

Layoffs from Major & Minor Retail Favs
Now this just in, high end fav Macy's is said to be cutting at least seven thousand jobs across the board. What is the deal? I would never imagine that the Target would be getting effed by the recession! You would think that this would cause them to lower their prices just a tad bit, oh no. They just decide to alter the lives of six hundred and sixty workers

Rock it or Stop It?
Ok, I've been trying to hold back on posting the bad shots of my favorite celebs in atrocious getups, but I just couldn't take or do it anymore. So here's my first installment.
I absolutely love Jenny Hud, but sometimes her stylist needs to be cut. I mean she has marveled herself into curvy statue type, and she keeps coming up short at the most elaborate events. Check out last night's ensemble, in front of the entire United States. Jenny dons a white top, with leggings, and mini-jacket and stiletto sands. No ma'am, pressed ham!! Her make-up as usual is flawless, but her units leave fans guessing. So would you rock it or stop it?
I'm definitely screaming STOP IT!!!!
Tootles,
Confessions of a Shopaholic
On February 13, the sensational book series,Confessions of a Shopaholic will hit theaters nationwide and I simply cannot wait. I have been known to shut down a couple of outlet malls in my time, yet I know when it's time to call it quits... MMMM, so ok I don't! Yet, I sympathize with each and every shopaholic throughout this nation and even more so this continent, because this movie will call for others to know our secrets.
If you're thinking, how can I know if I'm belong to this secret society of over energized shoppers, well let's see. If you're known to family and friends as the Fashion Madame, Fashion Maniac, or Phantom of the credit card, who's known to never control his/her spending, then it is probably been said that you are a shopaholic. Now if that's not enough to categorize your heightened sense of shopping then keep reading. Take a few moments and see if you can say yes to these bullets for a quick diagnosis:
a. You never pay attention to the amount of credit cards that you own.
b. You can't walk by a boutique or department store, without peeking through the window display.
c. Various places call out to you at night about their next sale, when you're suppose to be in a relaxing state of mind.
d. The first thing you do when you go to the Internet is to check the latest eBay auctions on your favorite designers.
e. Your conversation is categorized by your favorite trends and how you plan to start the next movement of uniqueness.
f. Your closet is screaming for an upgrade, yet you live in an apartment and you're not allowed to make drastic changes to the floor plan.
g. You go into a store to purchase one item and become overwhelmed by the fabulous sale, and end up with at least ten or more bags of things you're not really sure you need.
If you answered yes to more than three of the questions, it is possible that you are a shopaholic. So tell us what's your favorite shopaholic experience and why?

1st Lady Style
Last night, our first lady Michelle Obama looked absolutely ravishing as she entered the Neighborhood Ball with our President. Her decision to highlight upcoming designers is what makes her such USA royalty. As all fashion lovers all over the world saw the huge masses of fashion designers that produced sketches for the first lady diva. I absolutely loved the one shouldered ensemble that she decked out with a flawless natural glowing face. Some questioned that she should have went with something more flattening to her natural curvaceous shape, but I think she looks stunning. Of course, I had my favorite picks that I also thought would flatter her a little bit better, but in the end she selected something totally out of the norm, and it worked. My two favorite selections are attached.

Knowles Sister Feria Campaign
So here we go again, folks start lining up to begin the hating of the Knowles sisters, because they have yet added another campaign under their Diva belts! Not only are they both bursting out hot videos from their hit banging CDs, but their bid for world domination has hit Loreal Paris. Many are familiar with big sis,Beyonce being a spokesman for the company for awhile now and has decided to turn it over to her baby sis, Ms. Sol-Angel herself, Solange. I look forward to seeing what else they'll have in store for us in 2009! Go head Knowles women!!!

Heavy Hit to Fashion Week
Wow, I cannot believe my eyes. Uber designers DKNY, Vera Wang and various other designers are seeking to do cheaper shows due to our government stricken economy woes. Unfortunately, some more vintage designers like Betsey Johnson and Carmen Marc Valvo, are withdrawing their complete fall lines from this Spring's Fashion Week in NYC Bryant Park. This will be the first time that either designer has missed a tent show in like...FOREVER! What on earth is going on? Is the recession, hitting us so hard that our high end designers cannot perform in their most outlandish behavior that they are used to? I wonder how the buzz is getting around, I mean when you have two of the world's hottest designers withdrawing from a worldwide event that leads to mass press and media outlets resulting in $$$$, what could have possibly went so wrong for them to shut out completely. I wonder if it's a part of some new plan to begin a different type of fashion show. Hmmmm...let's keep our eyes open for more fashion week alerts!!! I know Fashion Week is not so with Betsey. Although, I am anxious to see what's next for my girl, Monique Lhuillier!
Oh well,

Make-Up Pimpin on a Budget with e.l.f.
If you didn't recognize that we're currently in a recession and that us beauty enthusiasts can't go out and continue to splurge on our valuable MAC, Estee Lauder, Dior, or Prescriptives designer brand cosmetics. Please don't fret as several top makeup artist and retail chains are combining talents and prices to suffice beauty lovers worldwide. Most have rose to the occasion and are slowly saving the day. However Eyes-Lips-Face (e.l.f.) have brought their lines in hopes of reaching the lower masses. I simply love this low cost supplier. They have a wonderful assortment of professional brushes and I'm so shocked at the price, mostly in Kroger's, Target, and some Wal-Mart in southern states every things priced at $1.oo. Yep, that's right a beauty product that doesn't immediately decompose or irritate your skin at a dollar. I can't and won't complain. Checkout their website for new additions and special gift sets at e.l.f.
If the dollar price line is a little too cheap for you, they also are introducing this new line of products called Studio. It features all of their professional brushes and makeup kits. I promise give them a try it is well worth your benjis.
